Toma de decisiones del consumidor ante la responsabilidad social empresarial

Abstract

La responsabilidad social empresarial se ha centrado fundamentalmente en el rol que la empresa debe desarrollar en el campo económico, social y ambiental, de manera que no perjudique a los stakeholders; sin embargo, no se han logrado avances significativos, debido a la primacía del objetivo de la empresa: la maximización de sus beneficios, aunque esto implique costos sociales y ambientales. El objetivo de la investigación es analizar la importancia de la toma de decisiones del consumidor en la responsabilidad social empresarial. La investigación se desarrolló bajo la perspectiva metodológica cualitativa, siguiendo los procedimientos del método de la investigación documental. Los principales resultados son: la toma de decisiones del consumidor está basada mayormente en las emociones más que en la racionalidad; y es trascendental la toma de decisiones del consumidor, mediante su poder de compra, para mejorar las prácticas de responsabilidad social empresarial. Se concluye que la responsabilidad social empresarial debe cambiar de punto focal: de la gestión de la empresa a la toma de decisiones del consumidor.
