This study aimed to identify the benefits of the use of cinema in the classroom, as a pedagogical approach to arouse the interest of students, graduates of High School/Technician in Administration, by the accounting profession and to undo stereotypes about the accountant's view. Qualitative research with adoption of the case study method, in which the film “A dream of freedom”, was applied to a class of 22 students. The answers to a questionnaire were analyzed following the directions of Content Analysis. It was found that the use of cinema in the classroom contributes to the assimilation of concepts, with greater student engagement in the teaching-learning process, development of critical sense and, in this case, with the awakening of students' interest in the accounting profession.
