Glossalgia is characterized by the periodic appearance of burning, pain and tingling in the tongue, perversion of taste sensitivity, significant prevalence in middle-aged and elderly people and is often combined with somatic diseases. Glossalgia more often affected people aged 60 years and older, mainly women -84.7%, whereas in men this disease was diagnosed in 15.3% of cases, 11.3% were under 40 years old, 21.3% from 40 to 49 years old, 31.3% from 50 to 59 years old and 36% were patients aged 60 or more years.
