Seabuckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L) belongs to the family Elaegnaceae is an economically and ecologically important plant of Ladakh. Seabuckthorn is a Super Healthy Fruits rich in bioactive compounds viz., vitamins, antioxidant and minerals. Seabuckthorn exhibits antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anticancer activity and several other health benefits. Seabuckhthorn has a wide range of application in food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry. Seabuckthorn has immense potential in the sustainable socio-economic development and nutritional security of Ladakh.
