ECO-GEL: No More Heavy Metals in Wastewater

Abstract

16 December, 2022- Dhaka, Bangladesh -- “I was tensed as I did not get enough Boro rice yield last year. It was 85 mon in my 2 acre land”, said Sogir Ali to EnvAgro service provider, a farmer from Ghorashal. “You know my family is fully dependent on my income. I went to the local agricultural office to find out the problem and came to know that there were heavy metals released from the textile industry and mixed in the river water which I used for harvesting. Using Eco-gel in the irrigation water reservoir results in almost 2 times better production compared to the last year, which means 160 mon Boro rice yield”. Sogir Ali is one of the most delightful customers of Eco-gel, a year old environment friendly product of EnvAgro servicing farmers, gardeners and sewage workers for a healthy and better life. Eco-gel is a hydrogel that allows farmers and sewage workers to remove heavy metals from irrigation water and textile wastewater at a convenient cost. Eco-gel is made from water hyacinth (shoots, roots and leaves) that can adsorb, swell or hold heavy metals e.g. arsenic, chromium, cadmium, lead, zinc and other heavy metals from a certain amount of wastewater in the shortest period of time. The product fulfills customers’ satisfaction by providing them all square services which you can say, all in one. Heavy metals have significant toxic effects on crops such as growth inhibition, water and nutritional imbalance and development of numerous plant diseases. Also, if you are a textile worker, you may be exposed to heavy metal toxicity. So, questions can arise like how do you grow more fresh and healthy food in less land? What is the value of living a healthy life? Precious actually. Eco-gel is more than just a gel, a solution to these problems mentioned above. The new innovative Eco-gel (2 years longevity) can absorb enough heavy metals from wastewater at a certain time (approximately 2-3 hours) with no side-effects. No more health hazards. Even, Eco-gel as a soil conditioner, will improve the growth of your crops and make tolerance capability for heavy metals containing chemical pesticides. To be honest, several technologies are available in some markets or online shops nowadays for heavy metal removal. So what's all the fuss about? The price and the availability. The product is made from water hyacinth (roots and shoots) which is degradable, reusable, and recyclable. Moreover, Eco-gel is cost-effective and easily available in almost all shops. You can buy 1 pack of Eco-gel for 20 BDT. The price is relatively cheaper than other metal removing products and technologies. Eco-gel is easy to use which can satisfy a customer. Even more interesting, a liquid fertilizer, a byproduct made from water hyacinth leaves full of minerals, is also available in EnvoAgro Company at the same price which shows equivalent efficiency as chemical fertilizer in several investigations –even better than local chemical fertilizers. 1 bottle of fertilizer contains 500ml fertilizer and costs 20 BDT. Samia, a gardener from Dhaka, Bangladesh; gladly shared her product experience in the comment section of EnvAgro facebook page. “Using DAP fertilizer, I had to do a lot to follow safety precautions of using DAP and 3-4 brinjals were grown per brinjal tree. However, I ordered Eco-gel from Ek Desh with 2 bottles for 40 BDT, started to use its fertilizer, and observed better height along with 6-7 brinjals per tree.” “Our innovative product, Eco-gel can save millions of lives, prevent malnutrition, and put smiles on farmers’ faces.” Sadia Jaman, CEO and founder of EnvAgro wrote in EnvAgro facebook page that proves the integrity of the product and services. An anonymous scientific officer, Faiaz Nasir posted on LinkedIn that he is a proud member of EnvAgro because of the supportive work environments plus smart, talented and flexible employees with vast career development opportunities. For Sogir Ali and Samia, Eco-gel was the trigger for joining ‘Ek Desh’ platform. They advise other people to buy the product. It’s never too late to change your practices. Choose Eco-gel and secure a healthy life.
