MODALIDADES DE TRATAMENTO PARA ACNE VULGAR

Abstract

A acne vulgar é uma doença inflamatória crônica da pele, multifatorial, imunomediada, caracterizada como a oitava doença mais prevalente no mundo, presente em aproximadamente 80% da população, apresentando pico de prevalência entre dezesseis e vinte anos, intensidade maior em homens e prevalência maior nas mulheres. Além disso, vale ressaltar que a acne é considerada um problema de extrema relevância, pois pode resultar em lesões inflamatórias ou não inflamatórias, as quais podem gerar cicatrizes permanentes na pele do indivíduo. Por isso, é uma enfermidade que está diretamente relacionada com sequelas físicas significativas e graves problemas psicológicos entre os afetados. [1, 2]. A acne vulgar é uma doença a qual apresenta relação principalmente com as unidades pilossebáceas da derme, e é definida como uma dermatose que se manifesta na forma de comedões abertos (pontos negros), comedões fechados (pontos brancos) e lesões inflamatórias como nódulos, pápulas e pústulas. Nos últimos anos, esta doença tem sido observada em pacientes mais jovens devido ao início precoce da puberdade. [3, 4]. Vários fatores podem induzir a produção de acne ou aumentar a sua gravidade. Alguns desses fatores incluem genética, sexo masculino, estresse, tabagismo, além de medicamentos comedogênicos, como andrógenos, halogênios, corticosteroides e cosméticos que levam a obstrução de poros. [1, 5, 6]. O diagnóstico da acne é clínico e direto, porém alguns diagnósticos diferenciais precisam ser descartados antes de iniciar o tratamento desta doença, como rosácea (sem comedões), foliculite, dermatite e erupções medicamentosas. [6].
