O uso de canabidiol como tratamento do autismo

Abstract

O presente estudo teve como objetivo geral analisar o benefício do uso do canabidiol como tratamento em pessoas portadoras do transtorno do espectro autista, analisando seu efeito nas comorbidades e sintomas presentes no espectro. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa com análise descritiva sobre o autismo, suas comorbidades, o uso dos componentes da cannabis e o CBD como forma de tratamento para o TEA. Como referencial teórico para a revisão foram utilizados 18 estudos das principais plataformas de artigos científicos. Através do estudo foram evidenciadas as principais comorbidades que afetam os autistas, sendo elas indícios psiquiátricos, clínicos e atraso no desenvolvimento como comprometimento intelectual, ansiedade, depressão transtorno do déficit de atenção com hiperatividade, transtorno obsessivo-compulsivo, perturbação do sono, constipação e refluxo, seletividade alimentar, convulsões e epilepsia. Na intervenção farmacológica são utilizados diversos fármacos direcionados para cada comorbidade, aumentando a quantidade de medicamentos prescritos para o portador do TEA. Os testes realizados com o CBD apresentaram seu amplo uso como ansiolítico e antipsicótico, além de resultar em melhorias na parte comportamental e social, abrangendo diversos sintomas do autismo e tendo leves efeitos colaterais. Conclui-se que o canabidiol demonstra ser um medicamento promissor para tratar as comorbidades e sintomas presentes no autismo, contudo ainda são necessários mais estudos específicos para assegurar o CBD em relação ao seu uso prolongado nos autistas.
