CARACTERÍSTICAS CLÍNICAS DO OSTEOSSARCOMA E FATORES PROGNÓSTICOS

Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é revisar as principais características clínicas do osteossarcoma e discutir os fatores prognósticos que podem influenciar o desfecho do tratamento. Para a construção deste artigo foi realizado um levantamento bibliográfico nas bases de dados SciVerse Scopus, Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), U.S. National Library of Medicine (PUBMED) e ScienceDirect, com auxílio do gerenciador de referências Mendeley. O osteossarcoma é um tumor ósseo maligno que pode ter prognóstico desfavorável se não for diagnosticado e tratado precocemente. A dor óssea, o inchaço e a sensibilidade ao toque são as principais características clínicas do tumor. Vários fatores prognósticos podem influenciar o desfecho do tratamento, incluindo a idade do paciente, a localização do tumor, o tamanho da lesão, a presença de metástases e a resposta ao tratamento. O tratamento padrão para o osteossarcoma inclui a cirurgia e quimioterapia, e a resposta ao tratamento é um fator importante para o prognóstico do paciente.
