EFICACIA DE LA PLACA HAWLEY CON TORNILLO DE EXPANSIÓN UNILATERAL Y PISTAS DE ACRÍLICO EN PACIENTE CON MORDIDA CRUZADA ANTERIOR

Abstract

La mordida cruzada anterior pertenece al grupo de las mal oclusiones, ocupando el tercer lugar de las prevalencias de patologías bucodentales. Se la define como la mal posición de los dientes anteriores superiores ubicándose en posición lingual con referencia de los dientes anteriores inferiores. Es recomendable realizar el tratamiento a tempranas edades para así evitar que el paciente llegue a tener una clase III esqueletal. En el siguiente trabajo tiene como objetivo Determinar la eficacia de la placa Hawley con tornillo de expansión unilateral y pistas de acrílico en una paciente de 7 años atendida en la Clínica de Odontopediatría de la Facultad Piloto de Odontología de la Universidad de Guayaquil. La metodología usada es Analítico Sintético ya que se procedió hacer el análisis del caso clínico aplicando la técnica y los instrumentos de recolección de datos para obtener el resultado. Los resultados obtenidos es un descruce de mordida en cuatro semanas con la ayuda del paciente al usar el dispositivo y no retirarlo. En conclusión, la placa Hawley con tornillo de expansión unilateral y pistas de acrílico es eficaz para descruzar mordidas anteriores, mejorar el perfil del paciente y mantener overbite y overjet positivo.
