The aim of the article is to introduce national liberation struggle in Tibet in the 30-40ties, 20th century. The author of the novel focuses on the importance of preserving national identity features. The topic is extremely important and the example of Tibetans fighting for their own destiny is topical now less than century after the confrontation between Tibet and аrmy of China. The article considers the main episodes of the struggle and resistance of the protagonist and his entourage to the invading troops of the Red Liberation Army. The main character of the novel dreams about his motherland and wants to return here even after his death. The novel raises an important topic and demonstrates that national identity and its awareness, in particular group consciousness, becomes the key to the national liberation struggle.
