UTILIZZO DEI DATI NDVI DERIVATI DA IMMAGINI SATELLITARI SENTINEL 2A e 2B PER LA VALUTAZIONE DELLA 'FRACTION VEGETATION COVERAGE' IN AMBITO URBANO

Abstract

Il satellite SENTINEL 2A, dell’agenzia spaziale Europea ESA fornisce immagini scaricabili gratuitamente su tutto il globo terrestre con una risoluzione spaziale a terra pari a 10m, con un tempo di rivisitazione di 10 giorni. Dal 2017 il lancio del satellite gemello SENTINEL 2B, il tempo di rivisitazione si è dimezzato, permettendo agli utenti di ottenere una immagine sullo stesso territorio ogni 5 giorni. Il consorzio LaMMA acquisisce sull’intera regione Toscana tali immagini calcolandone vari indici di vegetazione archiviando solo tali prodotti (NDVI Normalized difference vegetation index e NBR Nearinfrared Burned Ratio). Per ogni acquisizione disponiamo quindi di una informazione relativa allo stato di vegetazione sull’intero territorio regionale. L’indice NDVI è utilizzato per studi relativi alla vegetazione attiva presente sul territorio ed una analisi condotta verificando la variazione di tale indice nel tempo, fornisce in prima approssimazione, una indicazione sul cambiamento dell’uso e copertura del suolo.
