RESUMEN Actualmente, se estima que, de todas las enfermedades descritas causadas por microorganismos a plantas, el 47% son virus, 30% hongos, 16% bacterias, 4% fitoplasmas, 1% por nemátodos y 2% por desconocidos [1]. El grupo de los hongos fitopatógenos es el de mayor importancia, ya que causan pérdidas económicas a nivel mundial, debido a las enfermedades pre y poscosecha [2]. Principalmente se debe a la amplia diversidad que presentan, se ha llegado a estimar que alrededor de 8,000 especies de hongos producen enfermedades en las plantas [3], además de que se desarrollan en diferentes condiciones ambientales. El uso descontrolado de fungicidas, sus impactos en el ambiente [4] y la resistencia que han generado algunas cepas de hongos [5], ha propiciado a que en la actualidad se incrementen los estudios sobre diversos microorganismos con característica de potenciar el crecimiento en plantas pero que al mismo tiempo tengan la capacidad antagonizar hongos fitopatógenos. Por lo que se desarrollan diversas metodologías para probar la capacidad de bacterias que tengan la capacidad de antagonizar hongos; con las que se pueda probar la acción del secretoma y metaboloma [6]. Las principales metodologías que se describen en esta presentación son: Inhibición en capa-dual [7], inhibición simultánea, doble capa, compuestos volátiles hongos [8] e inhibición en medio líquido, las cuales son metodologías que han resultado efectivas para evaluar la capacidad antagónica de bacterias sobre el crecimiento micelial de hongos fitopatógenos debido a que cada una evalúa diferentes tipos de acción de las bacterias.
