This report is a part of deliverable “D.6.2. Report on migration and demographic patterns in the EU CEE countries and potential source countries” of the project FUME – Future Migration Scenarios for Europe (870649), financed with the Horizon 2020 programme. The work on this topic was done within Work Package 6 in Task 6.2: “Thematic study 2 – Migration in Central and Eastern European Countries – destination & origin region in the future - analysis of immigration and emigration patterns and integration of immigrants in EU CEE countries”. The report presents results of a pioneering survey on immigrants in EU CEE countries, using the Polish and Małopolska region as a case study. The survey was conducted in the period of October-December 2021. The final sample consists of almost 600 observations. Based on this data, we evaluate the socio-economic integration and adaptation processes of recent immigrants in Poland and investigate their future migration intentions and preparedness. The most striking finding is that most of immigrants declare to settle permanently in Poland. This especially applies to the Ukrainians who constitute a vast majority of immigrants in Poland and the Malopolska voivodeship.
