Agonopterix arenella

Abstract

Agonopterix arenella (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) (Figs 17, 49) Tinea arenella Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775: 137. Agonopterix arenella (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775): Gaede, 1939: 304. Material examined. CHINA, Tianjin: 1♀, Mt. Jiulong, Ji County, 27.VI.2004, leg. HH Li et al., slide No. ZL 08210. Diagnosis. Adult (Fig. 17). Wingspan 21.0 mm. Agonopterix arenella is distinguishable by the distally expanded cuiller in the male genitalia and by the sub-rhombic signum in the female genitalia (Figs 49, 49a). It is similar to A. pallorella (Zeller, 1839) in the male genitalia, and can be distinguished by the distally dilated cuiller rounded at apex and the ventral margin of the valva straight before apex (Huisman 2012: 80, fig. 31). In A. pallorella, the distally expanded cuiller is obliquely truncate at apex and the ventral margin of the valva is concave before apex (Buchner 2017a: 12, fig. 21). Distribution. China (Tianjin), Europe, Russica, North Africa (Lvovsky 2001a; Lvovsky 2006; Lvovsky 2008).
