ASPECTOS DA NEUROPLASTICIDADE NO SISTEMA NERVOSO LESIONADO

Abstract

INTRODUÇÃO: Os neurônios são células presentes no sistema nervoso central (SNC) que ao receberem estímulos vindos do próprio organismo ou do ambiente externo, formam entre si, conexões sinápticas de natureza elétrica que resultam em reações de liberação de substâncias químicas e íons. Podemos dizer que no SNC, a partir dessa constante geração de novos estímulos, ocorre modificação, readaptação e principalmente reorganização de sua vasta e poderosa rede neuronal, a essa capacidade é dado o nome de Plasticidade Neuronal ou Neuroplasticidade. Esse fenômeno é observado, por exemplo, em situações em que se há perda de massa encefálica, como em acidentes em que os indivíduos sofrem déficits motores, sensoriais, de fala, audição, entre outros, porém gradativamente se recuperam, podendo ou não restar sequelas. Deste modo, Neuroplasticidade caracteriza-se como sendo a capacidade adaptativa a nível de SNC que pode ocorrer em qualquer fase da vida humana, tendo como influência o ambiente externo e os estímulos recebidos. OBJETIVOS: Contextualizar como ocorre a plasticidade neural e quais os fatores envolvidos na capacidade de aprendizagem, adaptação e reorganização do sistema nervoso central, pós lesão. METODOLOGIA: Foi realizada uma revisão integrativa da literatura nas principais bases de dados bibliográficas, buscando analisar artigos em inglês e português, publicados entre 2011 e 2021, sendo incluídos 18 artigos sobre a temática abordada. CONCLUSÃO: A plasticidade neural não ocorre apenas em processos patológicos, mas assume, também, funções essenciais e importantes para o funcionamento adequado do SNC íntegro, durante todas as etapas da vida, sendo um processo involuntário que pode ser favorecido por meio de estímulos adequados, sendo fundamental para a aquisição de aprendizagem motora, memória e recuperação pós lesão encefálica.
