Abstract

[English] The gambling industry has grown significantly over the past fifty years, with a gradual relaxation of the legislation that limited them until then, both in France and in many other countries. Today there are only a handful of states around the world in which gambling is still banned (Redon & Lebeau, 2021). The growth of the gaming industry is also measured by the size of its market, which is estimated at around 420 billion dollars in 2014 for the legal part and 1000 billion if we include illegal offer (Redon & Lebeau, 2020). Enough to make gambling a "new social issue?" ”(Järvinen-Tassopoulos, 2010). We will see in this thesis how gambling have been integrated into the urban spaces and practices of the 7th arrondissement of Paris.
