TRATAMENTO DA MORDIDA ABERTA ANTERIOR NÃO CIRÚRGICA

Abstract

A mordida aberta anterior (MAA), é a má oclusão de maior comprometimento estético funcional, caracterizada pela falta de contato entre os dentes superiores e inferiores, não havendo a sobreposição entre eles. Sua etiologia é multifatorial podendo ser causada por combinações de hábitos e alterações esqueléticas. O objetivo do presente trabalho é relatar um caso clínico do tratamento da mordida aberta anterior utilizando grade palatina em conjunto com bi hélice. Paciente S.R.G.S. gênero feminino, 15 anos de idade, compareceu a clínica de especialização em Ortodontia do Instituto Ceproeducar, acompanhada dos seus responsáveis com a queixa de dentes abertos e vergonha ao sorrir. O diagnóstico foi baseado nos achados clínicos e radiográficos bem como no traçado cefalométrico. O tratamento consistiu na remoção do hábito com uso de grade palatina associada a um expansor bi-hélice para correção do palato ogival, colagem diferenciada do aparelho fixo e mecânica com elásticos intra orais O tratamento mostrou ser efetivo até o presente momento.
