Minettia (Minettia) annulifera sp. nov. (Figs. 120–129) Diagnosis. Mesonotum with a pair of blackish brown median longitudinal stripes and a pair of post-sutural blackish brown lateral longitudinal stripes; scutellum with a pair of irregular grayish white pruinose spots apically; tibia with two brown rings. Description. MALE. Body length 4.8 mm, wing length 4.8 mm. FEMALE. Unknown. Head (Fig. 120) brown, with grayish white pruinescence. Frons wider than long and parallel-sided, anterior margin yellow; ocellar triangle black, ocellar setae developed, longer than anterior fronto-orbital setae and extending to anterior margin of frons; anterior fronto-orbital setae reclinate, shorter than posterior fronto-orbital setae. Gena about 1/5 height of eye. Antenna yellow, about 1.5 times longer than high; arista black except brown basally, plumose with the longest setulae as long as the height of first flagellomere. Proboscis and palpus black, with black setulae. Thorax (Fig. 123) brown, with grayish white pruinescence. Mesonotum with a pair of blackish brown median longitudinal stripes and a pair of post-sutural blackish brown lateral longitudinal stripes; scutellum with a pair of irregular grayish white pruinose spots apically; 0+3 dorsocentral setae; acrostichal setulae in eight rows; a pair of strong prescutellar setae, longer than first post-sutural dorsocentral setae. One anepisternal seta, two katepisternal setae. Legs yellow; fore femur brown; tip and basal 1/3 of tibia each with a brown ring. Fore femur with eight posterior dorsal setae, eight posterior setae and eight posterior ventral setae; fore tibia with one dorsal preapical seta and one short apical ventral seta. Mid femur with eight anterior setae; mid tibia with one dorsal preapical seta and three strong apical ventral setae. Hind femur with six anterior ventral setae and one preapical anterior dorsal seta; hind tibia with one preapical dorsal seta. Wing (Fig. 121) hyaline, pale yellow except brown at base, subcostal vein brown apically; costa with 2nd (between R 1 and R 2+3), 3rd (between R 2+3 and R 4+5), and 4th (between R 4+5 and M 1) sections in proportion of 14.1: 4.0: 2.5; r-m before the middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 9.4: 7.6; ultimate section of CuA 1 about 1/5 of penultimate section. Haltere pale yellow. Abdomen (Fig. 124) brownish yellow. Male genitalia (Figs. 125–129): syntergosternite circular. Epandrium broad, sides of dorsum extend forward; surstylus slightly curved. Hypandrium without inner process. Postgonite degenerate. Phallapodeme shorter than phallus. Phallus with sclerotized tubes at middle, two pairs of tubes with serrate tip, two pairs of tubes with spines at middle in lateral view; without concavity apically. Type material. Holotype (CAUC): ♁, CHINA, Yunnan Province: Xishuangbanna, Yexiang Valley, 2007. IV. 18, Hui Dong. Distribution. China (Yunnan). Remarks. The new species is somewhat similar to Minettia (Minettiella) longispina Li, Chen and Yang from China (Guizhou) in surstylus and phallus, but it can be separated from the latter in the mesonotum with 0+3 dorsocentral setae; acrostichal setulae in eight irregular rows (without strong acrostichal setulae); katepisternum with two setae; tibia with two brown rings; abdomen brownish yellow. In Minettia (Minettiella) longispina Li, Chen and Yang, mesonotum with 0+2 dorsocentral setae, acrostichal setulae in six irregular rows (a pair of strong acrostichal setulae); katepisternum with one seta; tibia without brown rings; abdomen black. Etymology. Latin, annulifera, referring to the new species with two brown circular spots on tibia.
