DESIGUALDADES SOCIOESPACIAIS E MORTALIDADE POR COVID-19 NA CIDADE DE ARAGUAÍNA, TOCANTINS, 2020 E 2021

Abstract

O Brasil está entre os países com maior número de casos e mortes por COVID-19. Após aproximadamente três anos do início da pandemia, o mundo se encontra em constante processo de compreensão da dimensão de suas consequências regionais. O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar as desigualdades por meio da distribuição espacial de ocorrência de óbitos por COVID-19 na cidade Araguaína durante os anos de 2020 e 2021. Trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico e descritivo, cujo grupo de dados são secundários, obtidos do Sistema de Informação de Mortalidade (SIM), Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) e base de dados gerada por levantamentos de agentes de saúde e endemia. Araguaína é uma cidade média de centralidade regional, que despontou com a capital Palmas em registros de casos confirmados e mortes por COVID-19. Foram identificados no estudo 496 óbitos pela doença. A distribuição da mortalidade ocorreu de forma heterogênea, sendo que os bairros mais populosos e com características de vulnerabilidades, obtiveram maior número de óbitos. Observou-se uma maior frequência de óbitos entre idosos, indivíduos declarados pardos e pretos e do gênero masculino. Além disso, a frequência de óbitos entre indivíduos com ocupações em áreas associadas às atividades agropecuárias, comerciais e transporte, evidenciou a exposição de trabalhadores de serviços de extrema importância no apoio ao enfrentamento à pandemia, como a atuação no abastecimento e transporte de alimentos.
