This presentation was given at the Fostering Data Findability in a Changing Ecosystem Workshop, which was hosted by the Consortium for the Social, Behavioral, Educational and Economic Sciences. In it, I explore two areas of recent work which pertain to the area of human-centered data discovery: the idea of 'data needs' and the role of data citations in data discovery.
