»Die Greta Garbo der Leichtathletik« – Eine systematische Analyse der Modifier vossianischer Antonomasien mithilfe von Word Embeddings

Abstract

In diesem Beitrag setzen wir unsere Forschung zum rhetorischen Stilmittel ›vossianische Antonomasie‹ fort. Nachdem bisher vor allem verschiedene Methoden der automatischen Extraktion dieses Stilmittels im Mittelpunkt standen, geht es nun um die Analyse eines seiner drei Konstituenten, des Modifiers, der bestimmte Eigenschaften aus einem thematischen Referenzrahmen in einen anderen verlagert. Wir arbeiten mit einem annotierten Datensatz, der aus einem großen Korpus (ca. 1,8 Mio. englischsprachige Artikel) extrahiert wurde, und Word Embeddings, sodass wir quantitative Befunde mit einer thematischen Gruppierung der verschiedenen Modifier verbinden können. Die Visualisierung haben wir mit Hilfe von Dimensionsreduktionsverfahren durchgeführt. Zur Exploration der Forschungsergebnisse haben wir eine interaktive Web-App bereit. Ein Beitrag zur 9. Tagung des Verbands "Digital Humanities im deutschsprachigen Raum" - DHd 2023 Open Humanities Open Culture.
