Abstract

Neben der offenen Bereitstellung von Forschungsdaten ist deren Dokumentation eine weitere Bedingung für ihre Nachnutzung. Eine fachspezifische strukturierte und standardisierte Dokumentation erscheint bislang jedoch als Desiderat: Die Grundlagen der Datenerhebung (Auswahl, Begrenzungen, Ursprung, Datenqualität, Prozessierungen usw.) müssen nachvollziehbar sein, um eine spätere Verwendung zu ermöglichen. Dabei besteht über die Definition der Grundelemente einer Datendokumentation bislang keine einheitliche Auffassung. Mit diesem Workshop wollen wir aus der Perspektive der Datenerstellenden und -anwendenden eine erste Brücke hin zu einer solchen standardisierten Datendokumentation schlagen und sowohl datentypische als auch fachspezifische Anforderungen ausloten. Die Veranstaltung gliedert sich in zwei Teile: Am Vormittag werden nach einem einführenden Vortrag vier Praxisbeispiele präsentiert, die erläutern, welche Herausforderungensich aufgrund mangelhafter oder gar fehlender Dokumentation gestellt haben. Am Nachmittag sollen die Ergebnisse kategorisiert und im Rahmen eines Datathons das von der AG Datenzentren entworfene Datendokumentationsschema weiterentwickelt werden. Ein Beitrag zur 9. Tagung des Verbands "Digital Humanities im deutschsprachigen Raum" - DHd 2023 Open Humanities Open Culture.
