Stegana (Steganina) glaucopalpula Cui & Chen, sp. nov.

Abstract

Stegana (Steganina) glaucopalpula Cui & Chen, sp. nov. (Figs. 9C, 9D, 42A–C) Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. (S.) curvitabulata sp. nov. in the laterally curlied 8th sternite (Figs. 35B, 42B), but can be distinguished from the latter by having the palpus large, mostly yellow, slightly grey distally (Fig. 9D); the epiproct lacking sensilla, with several setae (Fig. 42A); the 8th sternite glabrous (Fig. 42B). Description. Female: First flagellomere black. Clypeus brownish medially, yellow laterally. Mesonotum yellow, with broad, brown longitudinal stripes medially (Fig. 9C). Katepisternum mostly yellow, brownish posteriorly (Fig. 9D). Scutellum brown (Fig. 9C). Halter mostly grey (Fig. 9D). Fore femur with a row of 4 or 5 sturdy setae on distal part of posteroventral surface. Abdominal tergites dark brown (Fig. 9C, D); sternites brown, about 2 times as wide as long. Female terminalia (Fig. 42A–C): Epiproct lacking pubescence (Fig. 42A). Cercus and hypoproct with numerous setae and much pubescence (Fig. 42A, C). Measurements and indices. BL = 2.88 mm in holotype, ThL = 1.59 mm, WL = 2.46 mm, WW = 1.21 mm, arb = 8/5, avd = 0.77, adf = 1.30, flw = 2.50, FW/HW = 0.33, ch/o = 0.13, prorb = damaged, rcorb = damaged, vb = 0.58, dcl = damaged, presctl = 0.79, sctl = damaged, sterno = damaged, orbito = 1.96, dcp = 0.33, sctlp = 1.33, C = 2.48, 4c = 0.89, 4v = 1.83, 5x = 1.73, ac = 8.89, M = 0.58, C3F = 0.67. Type material. Holotype ♀ (SCAU, No. 125753, DNA #2704, 2777), CHINA: Wugongshan, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, alt. 340m, 15.vi.2011, ex tree trunk, X.Y. Liu. Distribution. China (Taiwan). Etymology. A combination of the Latin words '' glaukos " (= grey) and '' palpulus '' (= palpus), referring to the grey distally palpus.
