A. paracrassicornis ist eine an Pilzen und Faulstoffen weitverbreitete, aber selten gefundene Art, die nur mittels Genitaluntersuchung von der sehr häufigen A theta crassicornis z u unterscheiden ist. Von Löbl & Smetana (2004) und Luka et al. (2009) für die Schweiz aufgeführt, ist sie bisher aus BE (Ihsenfluh) und LU (Obergütsch) bekannt (Linder 1968, Uhlig et al. 1990).
