Guglielmone & Nava (2014) listed five synonyms for Ixodes trianguliceps, but Ixodes tenuirostris is the most common and was used instead of Ixodes trianguliceps in the first description of the male in Neumann (1902), as well as in the first accounts of the nymph and larva, published by Nuttall & Warburton (1911). The presence of Ixodes trianguliceps in Iran, as noted by Moravvej et al. (2015), requires confirmation, and that country is provisionally excluded from the range of this tick.
