Ours is an accelerated era, one overloaded with information and images. I analyze some works by contemporary artists Idris Khan and Olafur Eliasson: proposals that prolong, through various conceptual, processual, and sensory strategies, our fragmented, accelerated, and atomized time. Thinkers like Byung-Chul Han warn of the need for rest to produce knowledge. In their works, Khan and Eliasson generate alternative temporalities to the prevailing speed and, precisely because of this, they might be restorative to our perceptive ability.
