Miksi Kiina jäi jälkeen? Suomen ja Kiinan pitkän aikavälin talouskehitys

Abstract

Why did China lag behind? Long-term economic development in Finland and China. Abstract According to the modernization theory, in order to develop, developing countries must basically repeat the development history of developed countries. The purpose of this article is to investigate this claim by comparing the long-term development of Finland and China. The long-term refers to the period starting from the middle of the 19th century, ending in the 1980s for Finland and the 2010s for China. The research is carried out using the method of comparative historical research and based on second-hand sources.
