Bu çalışmada, Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi öğrencilerinin dijital oyun bağımlılığı farkındalıkları ile serbest zaman tatmin düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Genel tarama modeline göre yürütülen çalışmada ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak; “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ile Beard ve Ragheb (1980) tarafından geliştirilen Karlı ve ark. tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan “Serbest Zaman Tatmini Ölçeği” ve Demir ve Cicioğlu tarafından geliştirilen “Dijital Oyun Bağımlılığına İlişkin Farkındalık Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma grubunu, 2022-2023 eğitim-öğretim yılında Aydın Adnan Menderes Üniversitesi, Balıkesir Üniversitesi ve Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültesinde öğrenim gören 767 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda katılımcıların dijital oyun bağımlılığı farkındalığı alt boyutları ile cinsiyet değişkeni arasında, dijital oyun bağımlılığı farkındalığı alt boyutları ile sınıf düzeyi değişkeni arasında, serbest zaman tatmininin dinlenme alt boyutu ile günlük dijital oyun oynama süresi değişkeni arasında anlamlı farklılık olduğu, dijital oyun bağımlılığı farkındalığı alt boyutları ile günlük dijital oyun oynama süresi değişkeni arasında anlamlı farklılık olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Sonuç olarak katılımcıların dijital oyun bağımlılığı farkındalık düzeyleri ile serbest zaman tatmini düzeyleri arasında anlamlı ve pozitif ilişki olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
