Naturjodel und Emotion. Interdependenzen mit Fokus auf Unterwalden

Abstract

Eine Beziehung zwischen dem Unterwaldner Naturjodel (Zentralschweiz) und Emotion wird in der Umgangssprache oft erwähnt. Sowohl aktive Jodlerinnen und Jodler als auch Zuhörende sprechen in unterschiedlichen Worten über eine emotionale Bewegtheit im Zusammenhang mit der auf Jodelsilben gesungenen Musik. Die vorliegende Forschung diskutiert mögliche Verbindungen zwischen dem Unterwaldner Naturjodel und Emotion aus musikethnologischer und musikpsychologischer Perspektive. Drei konsekutive Teilstudien ergründen, wie Menschen durch den Naturjodel ausgelöste Emotionen beschreiben und wie persönliche, situationsbedingte und musikalische Faktoren diese Emotionen beeinflussen. Den Ausgangspunkt bilden Berichte intensiver und überwältigender Erlebnisse mit Naturjodel, die häufig mit positiven Gefühlen, physiologischen Reaktionen wie Gänsehaut oder Tränen, einer Art kognitivem Kontrollverlust bei gleichzeitigem Berührtsein durch die Musik und Gemeinschaftsaspekten einhergehen. In der Folge zeigen Reaktionen auf Tonaufnahmen, dass der Unterwaldner Naturjodel gewisse Empfindungen bevorzugt auslöst, wobei die musikalische Form, die Art der Mehrstimmigkeit sowie die charakteristischen Klangfarben der Jodelstimmen die emotionale Intensität entscheidend prägen. Schliesslich verdeutlicht die untersuchte Beziehung zwischen dem Unterwaldner Naturjodel und Emotion aber auch, dass Personen auf identische musikalische Merkmale verschieden reagieren, da Musik, Person und Situation das Erleben gemeinsam formen.
