Cost Management: A Literary Review of Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing

Abstract

Résumé Dans la littérature sur la méthode de calcul des coûts baptisé Time Driven Activity Based Costing (TDABC), on suppose que ce nouvel instrument est apparu en vu de faire aux différentes critiques adressées à son prédécesseur la méthode Activity Based Costing (ABC). Présenté en 2004 par ses promoteurs R. Kaplan et S. Anderson comme une nouvelle méthode, nouveau instrument pour améliorer l’attribution des coûts indirectes dans le coût global, en vue d’obtenir des informations encore exactes, et ce pour définir les priorités d’amélioration des processus, la variété des produits, prix et relations des clients. Le présent papier rappelle les différentes limites de la méthode ABC, par la suite, et à travers une analyse des articles publié sur des bases de données sur internet (Scopus, WOS …) portant sur la mise en application de la TDABC, présenter son principe de calcul, ses apports et ses critiques. Abstract In the literature on costing methods, the Time Driven Activity Based Costing (TDABC) is presented as a new instrument developed in order to respond to the various criticisms addressed to its predecessor, the Activity Based Costing (ABC). Presented in 2004 by its promoters R. Kaplan and S. Anderson as a new method, a new instrument to improve the allocation of indirect costs in the global cost, in order to obtain still accurate information, and this to define the priorities of improvement of the processes, the variety of the products, prices and relations of the customers. The present paper reminds the different limits of the ABC method, then, through an analysis of articles published on internet databases (Scopus, WOS ...) on the implementation of the TDABC, presenting the calculation principle, contributions and criticisms.
