OS BENEFÍCIOS DA TERAPIA ASSISTIDA POR ANIMAIS (TAA) PARA O INDIVÍDUO COM DEFICIÊNCIA INTELECTUAL

Abstract

O presente artigo tem como objetivo discutir, a nível bibliográfico, quais são os benefícios e os métodos de uma modalidade pouco difundida academicamente: a TAA (Terapia Assistida por Animais). Esta terapia consiste em alcançar o máximo de benefícios e melhora para diversos quadros clínicos, através da relação e do contato dos homens com os animais. Com ajuda e trabalho dos animais, profissionais como médicos, fisioterapeutas, psicólogos e fonoaudiólogos qualificados para o trabalho misto de humanos e animais criaram um projeto de acordo com cada necessidade, podendo esta ser motora, fisiológica ou até mesmo psicológica. Este artigo está estruturado da seguinte forma: em um primeiro plano, falaremos sobre a história da TAA e da relação homem-animal através do tempo. Na sequência, discorreremos brevemente sobre o conceito de deficiência intelectual e sobre como esta terminologia sofreu alterações com o passar dos anos. Após isso, discorreremos sobre a fundamentação e os métodos da TAA e quais as particularidades e possíveis ramificações que ela possui. Finalmente, é essencial para este trabalho, será abordado o tema Autismo, e sobre como a TAA e o contato do indivíduo autista com os animais pode ser transformador e facilitador no que se refere a socialização e demonstração de afeto e amor puro, bem como demais vantagens que a Terapia Assistida por Animais possa oferecer para este quadro clínico.
