Abstract

_______ Characterization of psychosocial work conditions in a surgical hospitalization service Abstract: Health professionals who work in a surgical hospitalization, through work based on the relationship with others (between them and other categories and with clients) are physically and emotionally vulnerable. In this sense, it became necessary to understand the psychosocial working conditions in order to be taken in the future measures that help the development and improvement of the quality of life, health and well-being of these workers. In order to characterize them, in different categories: physicians, nurses and operational assistants, the questionnaire for the characterization of psychosocial conditions was used (Neto, 2013). The results showed risk factors that are equally present in the three categories: high cognitive and emotional requirements and work rhythm. Some factors are more specific in each group: low influence on work in nurses, job insecurity in operational assistants and work-family conflict and quantitative demands on physicians. In general, it is concluded that there are psychosocial risks in these professionals. Keywords: health professionals, working conditions, psychosocial risks, psychosocial risk factors, hospitalization.
