Abstract

Cette étude s’inscrit dans la grille des statistiques criminelles. La géographie criminelle permet de situer les populations sur la situation de sécurité de leur circonscription et d’anticiper sur les moyens adéquats pour la lutte. Pour ce faire, une étude qualitative auprès des personnes ressources comme les agents de police (20), les personnes victimes (20) et /ou non de vols (10) ont été interrogées, soit un effectif de 50 personnes. Il ressort de cette étude que le phénomène des vols de motos, révèle des zones ou quartiers fortement criminogènes ou non ; et partant susceptibles de favoriser le passage à l’acte ; en l’occurrence ici le vol des motos. Nonobstant les mesures de répression, le vol des mots persiste et les contrevenants usent de méthodes toujours de plus en plus adaptées aux moyens de lutte. D’où l’utilité de la cartographie comme un outil primordial dans la prévention de cette criminalité. Puisque le développement et le rayonnement de la ville, reste fortement liés au niveau de sécurité ou de sureté qui y prévaut. La théorie de référence est celle de J. L. Besson (2005) qui stipule que l’incident se produit à un moment donné et dans un lieu particulier. Il survient dans un environnement physique et il est le produit de plusieurs interactions formées par le lieu, le cadre (physique et temporel), la cible (victime, infrastructure, objet), le tout étant rythmé par les saisons et les mouvements de la société, le passé et l’intention de l’auteur. La cartographie a pour objet de représenter l’acte (l’incident) pour analyser les interactions qui ont permis son existence et qui peuvent suggérer des solutions.
