D2.2: Compilation of roadmaps and Grounding Actions for the Implementers – Second Version

Abstract

This document, entitled ‘Compilation of roadmaps and Grounding Actions for the Implementers – Second Version’, was developed within the framework of the TIME4CS project which is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No 101006201. This document presents the second version of the TIME4CS roadmaps to achieve Institutional Changes in Citizen Science (CS), as developed by the project’s four Implementers (Tyndall National Institute; Kaunas University of Technology; Centre for Genomic Regulation; Vita-Salute San Raffaele University), with the support of the facilitator partner European Science Foundation (ESF), for the period 2021-2023 and beyond. The document also describes the activities organised by TIME4CS to assist the Implementers in the roadmap implementation process, and gathers their first year of experiences. The first version of the Compilation of roadmaps and Grounding Actions for the Implementers (D2.11) described the 19 Grounding Actions defined by the Implementers for the project period (2021-2023) covering the four Intervention Areas (Research, Education & Awareness, Support Resources & Infrastructure, and Policy & Assessment). Within this first version of the Roadmaps most Implementers have devised Grounding Actions in relation to training, awareness raising, identification of CS contact points, development of CS policies/guidelines, and participation in CS networks. After one year of implementation of the institutional roadmaps, the Implementers acquired a better knowledge of the institutional arrangements, obstacles, resources, and best strategies to drive institutional changes in their institutional contexts. Considering these lessons learnt, a second version of the institutional roadmaps was developed and is presented in this deliverable. Overall, 9 new Grounding Actions have been defined, mainly focusing on the sustainability of the institutional changes.
