Levantamento do H*(10) em uma sala de radiologia veterinária

Abstract

Neste trabalho foi feita a avaliação do equivalente de dose ambiente (H*(10)) em diferentes posições dos profissionais veterinários do Hospital Veterinário da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (HV-UFU). Utilizando um objeto simulador de animal de pequeno porte, a grandeza H*(10), devido à radiação espalhada, foi medida em diferentes localizações da sala de raios-x veterinário. Observou-se que à medida que se aumenta a distância do indivíduo em relação ao tubo de raios-x, o valor de dose diminui, e quanto maior a tensão usada no equipamento de raios-x, maior foi o valor de H*(10) obtido. Para a avaliação de H*(10), a câmara de ionização foi posicionada em duas regiões (tireoide e gônadas) para diferentes posições dentro da sala. Foi observado que para posições mais próximas ao animal e ao tubo de raios-x, os valores de H*(10) foram maiores. Como a tireoide e as gônadas são órgãos radiossensíveis, é importante que eles sejam protegidos durante o exame. Desta forma, é frisada a necessidade de utilização dos equipamentos de proteção individual (EPIs) e monitoramento de dose para os indivíduos ocupacionalmente expostos (IOEs).
