Özbek Türkçesinde "Dil" Organ Adıyla Oluşturulan Deyimlerin Türkiye Türkçesindeki Muadilleriyle Karşılaştırmalı İncelemesi

Abstract

Organ names in Uzbek and Turkish are included in the establish-ment many idioms. These idioms use the name of the organ concerned to make a reference to its appearance or function. For example, the idiom not to hang ear means "not to listen, not to care". Thus, in this study, it is seen that the speech function of this organ is referred to in many idioms. In this study, idioms containing the organ name tongue are classified in four groups as idioms that are semantically and lexically similar, semantically similar but lexically different idioms, lexically similar but semantically different, and Uzbek idioms that has no equivalent in Turkish. In conclusion, it’s noteworthy that the idioms containing the organ name tongue in Uzbek and Turkish are significantly similar in terms of meaning and the components. This similarity is undoub-tedly due to the fact that two societies have a common history.
