Abstract

Atualmente, os raios X são muito importantes para obtenção de imagens de diagnóstico, sendo uma das modalidades mais utilizadas para imagiologia e responsável por grande parcela da dose de radiação entregue à população. O risco da radiação ionizante para pacientes pediátricos é mais elevado que em pacientes adultos, pois os primeiros possuem uma divisão celular acentuada com maior probabilidade de mutações genéticas. Este trabalho de revisão bibliográfica, visa analisar exames radiológicos pediátricos de tórax, bem como os parâmetros técnicos para obtenção de imagem e níveis de dose de entrada na pele. Utilizando o método das quatro leituras de Gil, selecionou-se inicialmente 31 artigos para identificar os valores procurados, filtrando publicações dos últimos 18 anos e com foco em pacientes de 0 a 15 anos de idade. Obteve-se os valores médios de doses de entrada na pele para as faixas etárias estudadas, comparando-se alguns valores com os Níveis de Referência Diagnóstica, que visam a proteção do paciente pediátrico à exposição à radiação ionizante. Mesmo não havendo um consenso para os níveis de dose e parâmetros técnicos nos estudos selecionados, é muito importante que os princípios de proteção radiológica sejam seguidos para proteção dos pacientes e indivíduos ocupacionalmente expostos.
