Abstract

O projeto "Conservação de espécies ameaçadas na Mata Atlântica" (CEAMA), com financiamento da Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP), tem como objetivo promover a conservação de espécies de plantas endêmicas e ameaçadas de extinção na Mata Atlântica. Elas pertencem a seis famílias distintas: Aristolochiaceae, Gesneriaceae, Lecythidaceae, Monimiaceae, Myrtaceae e Orchidaceae e todas ocorrem no município de Santa Teresa (ES), área sede do projeto. O presente guia tem a proposta de divulgar informações biológicas, de distribuição geográfica, principais características morfológicas e do estado de conservação destas espécies, associadas a fotografias realizadas pelos autores. As espécies são endêmicas do estado do Espírito Santo e ameaçadas de extinção. Deseja-se que este guia possa colaborar com as metas nacionais da Estratégia Global de Conservação de Plantas (GSPC) e que possa revelar as extraordinárias espécies da flora da Mata Atlântica para a população capixaba.
