Abstract

„Was ich like, kommt zu mir“ - Die qualitative Studie betrachtet Kompetenzen von Jugendlichen im Umgang mit algorithmischen Empfehlungssystemen in Online-Angeboten wie TikTok, Instagram und YouTube. Der Umgang mit diesen Empfehlungssystemen stellt junge Menschen vor unterschiedliche Herausforderungen: Wie kann ich Einfluss nehmen auf Empfehlungen? Woher weiß das Angebot, wo ich gestern Burger gegessen habe? Warum fällt es mir schwer aufzuhören? Die Studie fokussiert, wie sich junge Menschen algorithmische Empfehlungssysteme aneignen, welche Perspektiven sie auf diese haben und welche Kompetenzen sie im Umgang entwickelt haben. Die Ergebnisse der Studie eröffnen neue Ansatzpunkte für die Kompetenzförderung von Jugendlichen. Grundlage der Studie bilden Einzelinterviews und Forschungswerkstätten mit Jugendlichen zwischen 13 und 19 Jahren. Die Studie wurde im Rahmen des Projektes Digitales Deutschland durchgeführt.
