"Enhancing the Open Data Policy in Oman" was presented at COMEX:Oman's 2nd Big Data & Analytics Meet on 6 Dec 2022. Open data initiatives in different countries play a big role in supporting various development endeavours. Literature on open data is mostly dominant in the developed countries, such as the USA, UK and Europe, but visibly lacking in most other countries. Although Oman is an emerging country in developing open data policies, the value to be gained from current open data management practices is limited. This talk points towards enhancing Oman data policy implementation, with a specific focus on open data infrastructure, accessibility and promotion of scientific research.
