Abstract

O presente trabalho teve por objetivo apresentar uma descrição das características e propriedades dos materiais utilizados no sistema construtivo com Placas de Poliestireno Expandido- (EPS), bem como seu uso na execução de obras, pois a engenharia no ramo da construção civil, busca inovar a cada dia seu sistema construtivo e procura alternativas eficientes, econômicas e que ao mesmo tempo seja sustentável. Já que ao longo do tempo foi o setor que mais contribuiu para a degradação do meio ambiente. Neste sentido com fins de alcançar o objetivo da pesquisa foi realizado a pesquisa bibliográfica exploratória, de abordagem qualitativa com o intuito de buscar conhecimento sobre o tema da pesquisa, que tem por objetivo geral: Desenvolvimento de um estudo sobre os materiais utilizados na prática da construção civil utilizando o sistema monolítico construtivo em EPS. os objetivos específicos: Realizar revisão bibliográfica referente ao objeto de estudo; identificar e descrever os materiais utilizados na prática e execução do sistema construtivo EPS; descrever as vantagens e desvantagens da utilização do Sistema construtivo e descrever a importância da realização de orçamento de materiais em sistema EPS. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que as características físicas e mecânicas do material em poliestireno expandido (EPS), permite que sejam desenvolvidas edificações de baixo custo, leves, com uso de menos mão de obra e que trazem benefícios ao meio ambiente. Apesar de ser pouco difundido, é um sistema construtivo promissor para a construção civil.
