The article is devoted to the issue of the division of the Boturus (later Churapchinsky) ulus in the beginning of 20th century/ The work considers the process of administrative transformations, prerequisites and reasons for the formation of new administrative-territorial units in pre-revolutionary Yakutia on the example of the Boturus ulus. The role of the individual in the process of separation and formation of new administrative units in the Yakutsk region is noted. The general characteristic of the administrative-territorial structure of the Yakutsk region is given. The main research methods are the principle of historicism, diachronic and chronological methods.
