Wikipedia en la Universidad: Experiencias del Programa Leamos Wikipedia en el Aula

Abstract

El artículo presenta el contexto institucional y las condiciones que favorecieron la implementación del programa Leamos Wikipedia en el Aula en una Universidad de México. Dicho programa fue diseñado por Wikimedia Educación, se basa en el marco de alfabetización mediática e informacional de la UNESCO , y en las dieciséis habilidades del siglo XXI que todo estudiante debe desarrollar. Se divide en tres módulos: evaluación, acceso y creación de la información. El objetivo del programa es que las y los docentes adquieran estrategias y herramientas pedagógico-tecnológicas que les permitan utilizar Wikipedia como plataforma educativa. Al término del programa se puede obtener una certificación. El programa surge como una necesidad para contrarrestar los efectos de la infodemia 2 y la proliferación de noticias falsas. Adicionalmente, se menciona el proceso de diseño curricular en el cual se incluyó a Wikipedia como parte del plan de estudios en una materia del eje de formación integral. Se considera fundamental incluir temas relacionados con el movimiento de acceso abierto en los programas académicos; tecnologías disruptivas como Wikipedia permite a los estudiantes obtener la ciudadanía digital, lo cual les ayudará a tomar mejores decisiones en su vida académica, personal y profesional, logrando así sociedades más justas, equitativas e igualitarias. Para finalizar, se reflexiona sobre el impacto del programa en la comunidad docente, identificando las buenas prácticas que permitieron el cambio de percepción sobre Wikipedia como herramienta educativa, a partir de los contenidos, actividades interactivas y las experiencias de otros docentes.
