Sasajiscymnus ancistroides

Abstract

Sasajiscymnus ancistroides (Pang & Huang, 1986) (Figs 1h, 29, 71) Chinese name: RẆḧ瓢• Diagnosis. This species can be easily distinguished from other Sasajiscymnus by its black elytra bearing yellowish brown apices with two brown spots close to suture, and the penis apically constricted with fin-shaped appendage (Figs 29a–b, 19f). Description. TL: 1.74–2.04 mm, TW: 1.27–1.55 mm, TH: 0.65–0.84 mm. Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence (Figs 29a–c). Head yellowish brown with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum yellowish brown. Scutellar shield brown. Elytra black with yellowish brown apices with two brown spots close to suture. Ventral surfaces yellowish brown to black. Legs yellowish brown. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, slightly recurved toward the base of ventrite (Fig. 29d). Male genitalia: Penis stout, penis capsule with stout outer arm and long inner one, apex of penis distinctly constricted with fin-shaped appendage (Figs 29e–f). Penis guide with prominent keel at base in lateral view; parameres about 1/3 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide triangular in ventral view, widest at base, then gradually narrowing to apex (Figs 29g –h). Female genitalia: Coxites elongate, triangular; styli well developed with terminal setae; spermatheca distinctly curved, with basal ramus and elongate nodulus. Material examined. Holotype: China: Fujian: ♂, Xianfengling, Wuyishan National Nature Reserve, 2.X.1980, Huang BK leg (SCAU). Other material (SCAU). China: Henan: 1♂ 2♀, Jigongshan National Nature Reserve, 697 m, 4.VII.2009, Wang XM leg. Distribution. China (Fujian, Henan).
