Este estudio tiene por objetivo explorar las consideraciones de los docentes sobre las barreras de la educación inclusiva. El estudio se basa en un enfoque cualitativo y un diseño metodológico narrativo experiencial. Utilizando como método la indagación narrativa y la técnica del focus group se obtiene información de 59 docentes de 6 instituciones educativas públicas en Arequipa. Se concluye que, para incluir de manera efectiva a un estudiante, los maestros y los directores escolares deben adquirir una conciencia más profunda de las capacidades y necesidades particulares de cada estudiante, no solo de los niños que tienen discapacidades, sino también, de los alumnos con diferentes costumbres, razas, género, etc.
