Se reporta por primera vez la presencia en la ciudad de Mérida, estado Mérida, en la región andina de Venezuela, de las especies de pentatómidos (“chinches hediondos o verdaderos”) (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomomorpha: Pentatomidae) Supputius typicus (Distant, 1889) (Asopinae) y Pellaea stictica (Dallas, 1852) (Pentatominae: Pentatomini). Adicionalmente, se muestran varios casos teratológicos en adultos o ninfas de ambas especies, y se describe el estadio ninfal V de S. typicus.
