Mensch-Tier-Verhältnis ‒ Ergebnisse und Positionen aus einem studentischen Kurs

Abstract

Im Sommersemester 2021 haben wir den Kurs "Mensch-Tier-Verhältnis" zum ersten Mal im Studium fundamentale (StuFu) der Universität Witten/Herdecke angeboten. Das StuFu hat einen Umfang von 10% in allen Studiengängen an unserer Universität und damit auch eine identitätsstiftende Funktion. Jeder Donnerstag ist nur für Kurse aus dem StuFu reserviert. Studierende aller Fachrichtungen belegen hierbei zusammen Veranstaltungen, die individuell aus einem Angebot von über 100 Kursen gewählt werden. In diesen gemeinsamen Kursen haben sie die Möglichkeit ihre eigene Fachlichkeit in anderen Disziplinen zu reflektieren, gemeinsame Sprache und Prob-lemlösungen zu finden sowie ihren persönlichen Interessen nachzugehen. Unsicher über das Interesse der Studierenden gaben wir im Sommersemester 2021 zunächst eine maximale Teilnehmendenzahl von 24 vor, die wir dann aber im Zuge von über 200 Anmeldungen auf 50 Studierende erhöhten. Zudem kündigten wir eine Wiederholung für das fol-gende Wintersemester an. Der Umfang der Teilnahme am Kurs betrug zwei ECTS. Zwei weitere ECTS konnten durch eine „Independent Study“ erworben werden. Das war in diesem Fall das Schreiben eines eigenen Kapitels für dieses Buch. Herausgekommen ist dieses spannende Buch mit Kapiteln zu diversen spannenden, bedrückenden aber auch erheiternden Themen rund um das Mensch-Tier-Verhältnis.
