This presentation was delivered during the ORCID Team Retreat meeting in Italy (October 2022) to present the activities done by 4Science to benefit ORCID Members adopting the DSpace platform. 4Science, a leading contributor of DSpace, has developed the current ORCID integration for DSpace offering the ability to connect DSpace researcher profiles with ORCID, then push publications & projects information to the ORCID profile. DSpace, until its version 7.2 was only able to query the ORCID registry to lookup for authors. DSpace-CRIS instead, an open source extension of DSpace built and maintained by 4Science, provides since version 4 a full bi-directional integration with ORCID able to push & pull data via the member API. The DSpace governance, Steering & Leadership groups, set these new features as a high priority and 4Science donated what was done for ORCID integration in DSpace-CRIS adaption and ported such features to plain DSpace. These features are available in DSpace, starting from 7.3 version.
