Heroínas y mujeres en la independencia chilena: Representaciones discursivas en los textos escolares chilenos de Historia, Geografía y Ciencias Sociales de 6° básico

Abstract

Se analiza el tratamiento que asignan los textos escolares de Historia, Geografía y Ciencias Sociales a las mujeres que participaron en el proceso independentista chileno (1810-1823). Se utilizó la literacidad crítica para analizar los textos e imágenes de tres manuales de 6° básico publicados por las editoriales Zig-Zag, Santillana y SM. Los resultados muestran que los libros de texto representan a las mujeres de la independencia a partir de un discurso configurado desde los principios patrióticos y androcéntricos que rigen la nación chilena, pues utilizan diversas convenciones discursivas, como la supresión, la exclusión parcial, el rol pasivo y la representación generalizada, para invisibilizar el rol de la mujer en la historia o elevar su figura a la categoría de heroína, siempre y cuando haya aportado a la causa patriota. Se concluye que resulta fundamental reflexionar sobre la historia del país desde una perspectiva de género, a objeto de resignificar a aquellas mujeres que, por su mérito y valor propio, han aportado a la emancipación y apogeo del Chile republicano.
