We wanted to exchange views on central questions of the open-access-transformation and open scholarly communication in the European context, and in particular discuss the needs of the German community. Topics the discussion was including were: • To what extent is the Open Access idea already established in the research community? • How will the open-access-transformation be shaped across Europe in the various research disciplines? • How is the transformation impacting community needs? • Which actors will take part and serve as multipliers or are they independent agents? • What is needed to drive the transformation forward?
